Santa Maria Beach is a protected marine sanctuary and one of Cabo San Lucas' most stunning snorkeling spots. Conveniently located along the tourist corridor (Highway 1), it's just a 15-minute drive from Villa La Estancia. The morning hours offer optimal visibility and clear water, creating a serene environment for snorkeling. Thanks to the bay's protection, the waters remain calm, making it a preferred destination for boat tours and a thriving habitat for vibrant tropical fish.
The beach provides essential facilities, including a clean and new bathroom building with changing rooms and outdoor showers. Given the limited vendors and the absence of an easily accessible restaurant, it's advisable to bring your own food, drinks, umbrella, and snorkel gear to make the most of your snorkeling adventure at Santa Maria Beach.
Chileno Bay Beach is a captivating marine sanctuary located just a short 15-minute drive from Villa La Estancia along Highway 1 and has lots of parking available. Contrasting with its neighboring Santa Maria Beach, is larger and features a slightly rockier terrain, with more rocks on the sea floor as you walk into the water. Renowned for its Blue Flag safety rating, this beach stands out as one of the cleanest in México, offering excellent conditions for swimming and snorkeling.
Amenities at Chileno Bay Beach include clean toilets, showers, and a lifeguard. The morning hours present optimal conditions for snorkeling, with clearer, calmer waters. As part of the snorkeling tour boat circuit, visitors are encouraged to arrive early for a peaceful snorkeling experience, complemented by tide pools waiting to be explored.
Pelican Rock by Lover's Beach, accessible via water taxi from Medano Beach outside of Villa La Estancia or the Marina, offers captivating snorkeling opportunities with the iconic Arch as a stunning backdrop. For a scenic detour, ask your water taxi for a tour of Land’s End to witness the breathtaking Arch up close and learn some other fun things about the area and its sea life. Snorkelers can bring their own gear or inquire with the water taxi service for rental options, as there are no vendors on Lover's Beach. The buoyed-off snorkeling area provides a safe space to observe diverse marine life, including pufferfish and Cortez angelfish. Keep in mind the proximity of Divorce Beach and do NOTT get close to the water on the Pacific side due to its strong undercurrents.
